Award for Design Excellence to Helsport
March 16th the Norwegian Design Council awarded Helsport´s brand new sleeping bag concept, Huldreheimen, with the Award for Design Excellence.
Huldreheimen for Women
Helsport identified a need for sleeping bags with solutions based on women’s physiological mechanisms. In cooperation with SINTEF, it was discovered that women not only felt the cold more than men, but also in a different way. Helsport designed its sleeping bags for women based on this research.
Women don’t feel the cold like men
Helsport has taken women’s mechanisms seriously by developing its sleeping bag for women. Based on research by SINTEF, Huldreheimen for WOMEN contains three new industry innovations: The StayWarmCollar, a high, specially adapted collar, HeatForFeet, which provides extra insulation for the feet and WideZone, which fits a woman’s shape better.
The sleeping bags can also be washed and a repair service for the bags is offered. Helsport communicates the essence of the product clearly, with weight, tags and reflective marking. The sleeping bag has a fresh and serious look and the use of color is attractive and feminine in an understated way.
This is the second year in a row for Helsport to receive this award for a new sleeping bag, last year they Award for Design Excellence was give to the expedition sleeping bag Kongsfjorden. Huldreheimen comes in a fiber and a down version.
