As a leading outdoor equipment manufacturer, Helsport selects the best materials from manufacturers around the world. We are able to develop lightweight and durable fabrics best suited to their intended use.
Fabrics
Our fabrics are developed for specific use in backpacks. Wear resistance, tear resistance and water repellency are important features. Even though the fabrics are watertight, it is important to remember that the backpack will not be totally watertight because of the seams. it is therefore important to use a rain cover when it is raining heavily. Many of our packs come with a rain cover included. If not, you can also buy them separately.
Polyamid 840d: Extremely robust fabric for reinforcement
Polyester 600d: A heavy-duty synthetic fabric with 3000mm water resistance.
Polyamid 420d: Tightly woven with high wear and tear resistance. Often used when weight is important.
Polyamid 210d: Our lightest backpack fabric. Used on our lightest models, and for inside details.
Hypalon: Durable fabric used on exposed areas and where other fabrics are not suitable.
Zippers
Zippers can literally be a make or break component on any piece of equipment and are therefore critical to durability and the enjoyment of your pack. We use high-quality zippers from ykk, the world’s leading zipper manufacturer. Ykk zippers are reliable and easy to use in all conditions. Many Helsport models also have zipper covers to prevent leakage or icing.
Buckles
The buckles on your pack must handle heavy loads under any conditions. Helsport uses the best buckles available, from high end suppliers.
